Iva Jovic and Emilio Nava have earned their way into Roland-Garros.
The USTA announced that the pair have won the Roland-Garros wild card challenge. They competed in clay court tournaments across continents, with the players picking up the most ranking points in the five-week period earning a main draw spot in Paris.
The USTA utilizes the wild card challenge to award wild cards into the Australian, French and US Opens.
17-year-old Jovic finished the five-week Challenge with 142 points, earned by winning the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Charlottesville, Va., (100 pts.) and reaching the second round at both the WTA 250 in Bogota (30 pts.) and the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Bonita Springs, Fla. (12 pts.) Torrance native Jovic has now earned her way into the last three majors. S
She recently reached the second round at Indian Wells, after reaching the second round at the 2024 US Open, and hd second round at the Australian Open this year.
Jovic, currently ranked 120, reached the quarterfinals at Roland-Garros Girls’ tournament last year. She peaked at No.2 in the junior rankings.
137-ranked Nava won the men’s Challenge with 119 points, and he’s been red-hot this spring. He reached consecutive ATP Challenger finals, winning the title in Sarasota, Fla., (75 pts.) and reaching the final in Tallahassee, Fla., (44 pts.) amid a 19-match win streak.
The 23-year-old is 31-11 this year across all levels in 2025, with all but two of his matches played on clay. He’s also 6-3 against the ATP’s Top-150.
