Rory McIlory is aware that the Masters is approaching, and this will mean some modifications and adequate preparations before the tournament, which is probably the most important for him. We are a bit tired of the constant mention of the Northern Irishman year after year, emphasizing that he will complete the Grand Slam with an eventual victory at the Masters. The 35-year-old golfer is not a person who likes such pressure, just like most golfers.
The last tournament, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, was not a particularly positive experience for him. The winner of this tournament was Russell Henley, to everyone’s surprise.
Rory finished T15 with 72 shots for 285.
The next challenge for him will be The Players, and many are questioning how much the Northern Irishman can really do in this competition.
Rory McIlroy talks about his changes
The popular golfer has already decided to make changes, probably dissatisfied with the driver he used in the last tournament. Regarding the decision to try something new, Rory McIlroy admitted that there are two sides to the story, but the feeling that Rory has rarely deceived him.
McIlroy feels he made a positive decision, and time will tell.
“There’s pros and cons to it, and it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time that we sort of have to go through these 12-month club cycles. I probably just didn’t give myself enough time. It can look good on the Trackman and it can look good on the range at home at the Bear’s Club or on the golf course, but once you get out here in these conditions that’s where it really shows itself and it just wasn’t quite ready.”- Rory said.
McIlory is probably the person who attracts the most attention year after year due to the qualities he possesses and his desire to succeed. It will be interesting to see how much he can really do in the coming weeks.
