Karl Vilips achieved a great victory at the Puerto Rico Open, and many people know this young golfer best for being the ambassador of Tiger Woods’ clothing line, Sun Day Red. The 23-year-old has really played great from day one, and we have been hearing about his talent for years.
Vilips said in an interview with the media that he realized his dream with this victory, dreaming of taking the throne.
‘It’s a dream come true for me and my dad doing it, going at it for a long time, and this is what we dreamed of when I was a kid. So yeah, it’s pretty surreal.’- he said.

After the victory, the Australian golfer received many messages and congratulations, but one person stands out. Namely, after the end of the tournament, Vilips picked up his cell phone and saw a message from a random number that also called him.
However, when he realized it was Tiger Woods, he had trouble processing it all. The emotions that reigned then are probably hard to describe.
“It was tough because I got on my phone after the round and I was just scrolling, like who was texting me?” Vilips said. as quoted by Talk Sport.
“I got one from a random number that called me as well.
Then there was a voicemail saying it’s Tiger and I couldn’t process it in the moment, I was just trying to – I’ll get back to that later. That’s pretty cool.”
The young golfer reflected on his partnership with Sun Day Red, stressing that it is a special moment for him. He is happy to be a part of such a story, especially to collaborate with Tiger Woods.
“I signed it three weeks ago, so not too long since a Sun Day Red player has got a win.
I think it’s really special. I think it shows me that there’s a reason why they chose me to rep their brand and I’m just happy to be able to do it in a way as myself.”
