Miami Premier Padel P1: Coello-Tapia and Chingotto-Galan are ready to put on a show

The professional padel tour is exploring new markets to become increasingly popular in every corner of the world.

This sport has had exponential growth in recent years and has found the right set-up also from a managerial point of view to continue to develop without taking steps backwards.

The Miami Premier Padel P1 is taking place this week, a tournament that promises to be truly spectacular in the evocative setting of the Miami Beach Convention Center.

In the men’s tournament, the most anticipated players are undoubtedly world No.1 Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who are set to dominate the season as they did in 2024.

The Spaniard and the Argentine are also the top favorites in Florida, after starting 2025 in the best possible way with the triumph in Riyadh.

“I moved here a few weeks ago, so this is now home for me, and I really want to perform well. We’ve been working hard, so we feel confident. Right now, the Miami Open ATP tournament is happening just a short distance away, and I’m sure tennis fans will come check out padel at the Convention Center” – said Coello, who moved to Miami earlier this year to train in the best possible way and help the development of the sport in the United States.

His partner Tapia – who many consider the best player in the world – is also very happy to play in Miami: “We might be the favorites, that’s true, but every match comes with risks—every round is tough now. Our goal is to keep improving match by match. It’s not easy to adjust to such a different setting, especially the climate—we just came from cold Barcelona, and now we’re playing in Miami’s summer-like weather.”

Galan and Chingotto challenge Coello-Tapia

Their main opponents in Florida are expected to be Ale Galan and Federico Chingotto, who defeated them several times in the first half of last season.

However, their level dropped in the second half of 2024, and their start to 2025 was not ideal.

The world number 2 were eliminated already in the quarterfinals in Riyadh and must immediately react.

“People recognize us now, they play padel in American clubs, and there’s a huge passion for it here in Miami. We hope to put on an amazing show for the fans” – Galan stated before his debut alongside Chingotto.
