Lorenzo Musetti has been playing eye-catching tennis ever since he hit the tour in 2020. Next week, he’ll do it as a member of the ATP’s Top-10.

Musetti’s 6-4, 6-2 beatdown of Alex de Minaur sent the Italian up to No.9 in the ATP’s live rankings and assured him a spot in the Top-10, which means the 23-year-old will become third youngest Italian man to ever achieve the feat, and the sixth Italian man in history to reach the Top-10.

Musetti, who reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last year, then won bronze at the Paris Olympics, has won 17 of his last 20 matches on clay, and he’ll bid to reach back-to-back Masters 1000 semifinals, after reaching that far in Monte-Carlo in April.

The former junior No.1 is 15-5 on the season and will face Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo in quarterfinal action on Thursday in Madrid.
