Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek all boosted their earnings significantly at the 2025 French Open, but which WTA star has secured the most prize money this season?
In the French Open women’s singles final, Gauff defeated Sabalenka 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4 to win her maiden Roland Garros crown and second major overall.
The world No 2 collected $2,901,024 — the biggest paycheck of the season so far — for her triumph at the Paris Grand Slam.
The American star reflected: “I think the first one [Grand Slam] was maybe more emotional, but I think this one was just harder because, you know, you win one, and you just don’t want to get satisfied with just that one.
“So it was very difficult to match up. And I also felt like this is one I really wanted, because I do think this was one of the tournaments that when I was younger that I felt I had the best shot of winning. So I just felt like if I went through my career and didn’t get at least one of these, I would feel regrets and stuff.
“Today, playing Aryna, I was just, like, I just gotta go for it and try my best to get through the match. Yeah, that’s what I did.”
Gauff’s French Open victory, which was her first title of 2025, took her prize money total this year to $5,547,047.
The 21-year-old was a runner-up at the clay-court WTA 1000 events in Madrid and Rome, while she was a quarter-finalist at the Australian Open.
