Doubles star Irina Khromacheva rips ‘disrespectful’ Paula Badosa, Karolina Muchova

Irina Khromacheva and her partner Anhelina Danilina exited the Beijing doubles event in the first round but that wasn’t the thing that made the Russian the most upset as she absolutely slammed Paula Badosa and Karolina Muchova for the move they made following their match.

On Friday, Badosa and Muchova claimed a 6-3 6-2 win over Khromacheva and Danilina. But then, they pulled out of their doubles round-of-16 match against Hao-Ching Chan and Veronika Kudermetova.

After hearing about that and seeing that they decided to continue their campaigns in the China Open singles event, the doubles world No. 28 blasted the WTA for having rules that allow this and also ripped the two singles stars over being absolutely “disrespectful” toward the doubles players and competition.

Khromacheva sounds off on Badosa and Muchova

“Bravo WTA. We lost to singles players in doubles in Beijing tournament… And second round they are pulling out cause they don’t care about doubles… but they continue to play singles this week… Completely crazy by taking place of teams who could enter and participate fully… I had this situation twice this year that when they won first round they pulling out… Without respect to doubles players… And also for people who are signing on-site trying to get in… Very nice rule. Plus tournament losing one match on the schedule… Respect in WTA tour, no didn’t hear it exists… Crazy,” the 29-year-old wrote on her Instagram Story.

Se les fue con todo😳

Before coming to Beijing, the Russian and her Kazakh partner won back-to-back titles in Guadalajara and Hua Hin. Earlier this year, they also won a WTA tournament in Iasi and they also had two victories at the lower-tier stage.

Although they were in great form, they stood no chance versus Badosa and Muchova after losing their serves twice in each of the two sets en route to suffering a straight-set defeat.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard and the Czech are both still alive in the Beijing singles tournament while Khromacheva and Danilina will have to wait for next week’s Wuhan to play again.
