Korean Byeong Hun An won the Genesis Championship, a tournament organized in collaboration between the DP World Tour and the Korean Tour, where two Italians finished in the top ten and 114 ‘cards’ were assigned for the 2025 continental circuit.

On the course of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea (par 72), in Incheon, South Korea, Byeong Hun An concluded the competition with 271 (67 66 71 67, -17) shots tied with his compatriot Tom Kim (68 69 67 67) and then overtook him with a birdie on the first play-off hole. Great finish by Guido Migliozzi, who climbed from 18th to fifth place with 274 (72 71 66 65, -14), thanks to a 65 (-7, seven birdies, no bogeys), the best partial of the round, and a good performance by Francesco Laporta, sixth with 276 (70 65 70 71, -12).
Portuguese Ricardo Gouveia, third with 272 (-16), remained out of the playoff by one shot, while French Antoine Rozner occupied fourth place with 273 (-15) and joined Laporta by South African Casey Jarvis and Spaniard Ivan Cantero.
Kim, ahead on the last hole, missed the putt for the winning birdie (67, -5, six birdies, one bogey) with the ball going over the edge, while An scored it (67, -5, seven birdies, two bogeys) tying him at the top. Then the 33-year-old from Seoul took his second victory on the DP World Tour (which also counts for the Korean Tour) where he had already won the BMW PGA Championship (2015). He won for the first time in a playoff out of four played and received a check for 680,000 dollars on a prize pool of 4,000,000 dollars.
Great comeback by Guido Migliozzi in the two final rounds, from 55th to 18th in the third with a 66 (-6, eight birdies, two bogeys) and then fifth with a 65 (-7). In this way he climbed from 20th to 14th place in the Race to Dubai (order of merit) and, at the moment, he would have one of the ‘cards’ for the 2025 PGA Tour assigned at the end of the season to the first ten not otherwise exempt. Another has the serious mortgage of Matteo Manassero (sixth), absent on the occasion.
Francesco Laporta, in turn, made the best partial in the second round (65, -7, eight birdies, one bogey) moving from 29th to second position. He remained in the high rankings on the “moving day” and until the tenth hole of the fourth round (four birdies) he was in the running for the title. Then he gave in in the final eight with three bogeys (71, -1). His excellent performance remains, allowing him to climb from 84th to 60th place in the ranking and to participate, together with Manassero and Migliozzi, in the first of the two PlayOffs matches that will close the season, reserved for the best 70 (Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, 7-10 November) that will be reduced to 50 in the following DP World Tour Championship (14-17 November), where the best player of 2024 will be crowned.
Of the other Italians in the competition, Filippo Celli ranked 34th with 282 (-6) and Edoardo Molinari 54th with 287 (-1), while Renato Paratore and Andrea Pavan, 69th with 144 (par), and Lorenzo Scalise, 78th with 145 (+1), were eliminated at the cut. The first 114 of the Race To Dubai have kept their ‘card’ for the DP World Tour 2025. Among the Italians, Celli, Paratore, E. Molinari and Scalise, who lost it, will have to take part in the Qualifying School.
