Emma Raducanu has really learned one of the hardest lessons of her career

Injuries and more, a career conditioned by problems, ups and downs, following the triumph at the US Open 2021: Emma Raducanu is currently out due to injury, the latest coming due to a stop in Seoul, South Korea. Since then, in the quarterfinals of the tournament, the tennis player has been out due to injury and it will be decided at the last minute whether or not she will participate in the Billie Jean King at the end of 2024 with her Great Britain.

Emma’s career has certainly been very particular up to now. A tennis player who has won a Major, so far the only great highlight of her young career, because since then the British tennis player has obtained more sponsors than good results on the court. And this is not necessarily a bad thing, as I have explained in many of my editorials in which I have defended Raducanu and all tennis players who rightly want to combine their private life with their career.

In the last few hours, the British player gave an interview where she talked about her career with HSBC, one of her main sponsors. During the interview, Emma talked about the injuries that have affected her career.

“In 2023 I had three surgeries and was out of the Tour for eight months. The recovery was not as fast as we expected, we wanted to return in four months but instead it took eight months, unfortunately I decided to return to the court too early and in the end I caused more damage to my body. All of this made me learn a lesson, I learned that I have to be patient and not always want to rush to have everything sooner. When you return to the circuit you need time to be at the level that this sport requires. The matches are different than the training and you need to be in good condition. I am grateful at this moment to be in good health, for me this is the priority,” she explained.

A lesson that Emma has learned. Her 2024 was on tiptoe, played with humility, also finding some good performances, like at Wimbledon and some good general feelings among the physical problems suffered. I believe that in 2025, having overcome the various physical problems, she can still have a lot to give to tennis.
