LET: Charley Hull’s grand finale in Aramco Team

English Charley Hull recovered in the final round from second place with a 66 (-6) and with a total of 198 (65 67 66, -18) strokes won the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Riyadh, the fifth and final event branded Aramco and the penultimate of the Ladies European Tour that took place in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, on the course of the Riyadh Golf Club (par 72). Alessandra Fanali was ranked 18th with 211 (70 70 71, -5) and Virginia Elena Carta finished 59th with 219 (74 70 75, +3).

Charley Hull, 28, from Kettering, signed the fifth title on the LET for a palmarès that also includes two successes on the LPGA Tour where she plays preferentially. With eight birdies and two bogeys, for the best partial of the round, she left the Danish Nicole Broch Estrup, second with 201 (-15), three shots behind, and the Slovenian Pia Babnik, leader after two rounds and third with 203 (-13), five shots behind. In fourth position with 206 (-10) the Dutch Anne Van Dam, the Spanish Fatima Fernandez Cano and the German Helen Briem, five victories in the season, four on the LET Access (three as an amateur) and one on the continental tour, and in seventh with 207 (-9) the Welsh Lydia Hall and the Swiss Chiara Tamburlini, three titles in the year and leaders of the order of merit.

Alessandra Fanali concluded her race with a 71 (-1, three birdies, two bogeys) and Virginia Elena Carta with a 75 (+3, one birdie, four bogeys).

At the same time, on the first 36 holes, the team competition was played, with 245 (-43) strokes won by the quartet of Chiara Tamburlini, with the French Anne-Charlotte Mora, the English Mimi Rhodes and the Chinese amateur Tenniel Chu. In second place with 255 (-33) the team of Helen Briem and in third with 256 (-32) that of Fatima Fernandez Cano. In 13th with 265 (-23) the formation of the Thai Trichat Cheenglab, which included Virginia Elena Carta, and in 18th with 268 (-20) the team of Ana Pelaez Trivino with Alessandra Fanali.

One million dollars up for grabs, 500,000 for each event. Charley Hull was rewarded with $75,000, while the three winning proettes of the team tournament each received a check for $30,000.
