Jannik Sinner wrapped up the season as the dominant figure in men’s tennis. The 23-year-old Italian embraced a 73-6 score, winning eight ATP titles and helping his country defend the Davis Cup trophy. Jannik added six notable trophies to his name, writing history books.
The Italian claimed at least a set in all 79 sets, maintaining a high level between Melbourne and Malaga. Alongside other achievements, Sinner embraced a 46-0 streak against rivals from outside the top-20! Jannik’s losses came against four players.
Carlos Alcaraz beat him three times while Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev did that one. Thus, the Italian extended his streak against opponents ranked 21st or lower, winning 56 straight matches since the summer of 2023!

Jannik claimed his first Masters 1000 crown in Toronto in August last year. A few days later, fe felt to world no. 66 Dusan Lajovic 6-4, 7-6 in the second round in Cincinnati. The Italian struggled to find the first serve. However, he fought well despite not having too much time to recover.

Dusan took seven points more than the young gun. The Serb saved all five break points and provided a break in the seventh game of the opener. They stayed neck and neck in the second set, and Sinner gave three mini-breaks away in the tie break to hit the exit door.
By the end of the year, Jannik had won all ten duels against opponents outside the top-20.. The young gun maintained that streak throughout 2024, standing on 56 triumphs in a row against the rivals outside the elite group ahead of 2025.

Sinner raised his level in the second part of 2023, beating Novak Djokovic two times in the closing stages and wrapping up the season in the top-4. Jannik gathered momentum and used it with both hands in 2024, leaving all the rivals miles behind.
The Italian had his chances in those six losses he collected this year, although they all came against the rivals from the top. Some players from outside the top-20 had a chance to produce a surprise, but none of them managed to go over the top.

Jannik took down three lower-ranked players at the Australian Open before taking care of the rivals from the top en route to his first Major crown. Sinner conquered Rotterdam over four players from outside the top-20 and added three more wins against them in Indian Wells.
World no. 26 Tallon Griekspoor pushed Jannik to the limits in the opening two sets at the Miami Masters. The Italian clinched a late break in the second set to avoid a loss and sealed the deal with a strong performance in the decider.
The lower-ranked players stood no chance against the ATP Race leader in Monte Carlo, Madrid and Roland Garros. Griekspoor troubled him again in the first round in Halle, taking the opening set in the tie break before the Italian turned the tables.

Fabian Marozsan claimed a set against Jannik in the second round before Jan-Lennard Struff almost knocked him out in the quarter-final! World no. 1 took the opener in style but could not break the rivals in sets two and three. Sinner kept his composure and prevailed in the deciding tie break.
Sinner faced another challenging opponent ranked outside the top-20 at Wimbledon. Matteo Berrettini stood on the other side of the net in the second round and battled hard for over three and a half hours. Jannik grabbed three tie breaks, moving over the top and avoiding an early exit.
The Italian ousted nine rivals outside the top-20 in Montreal, Cincinnati and the US Open, clinching two titles and ending the year-end no. 1 calculations. Sinner lost the opening set in two matches in Beijing against Nicolas Jarry and Roman Safiullin.

He stayed focused and played much better in the second and third, leaving them behind and keeping his streak alive. Jannik struggled a bit against Tomas Martin Etcheverry in Shanghai. He recovered after losing the opening set and moved over the top in the decider.
World no. 1 faced Tomas Machac, Sebastian Baez and Tallon Griekspoor in his final three matches against the rivals ranked outside the top-20. He beat them in straight sets, remaining an unsolved mystery for the lower-ranked players ahead of 2025.
Sinner conquered the world of tennis this year. However, he does not want to think about records and achievements, focusing on further improvements and seeking another good run in the season ahead of us.
