Aryna Sabalenka’s team member shares ‘lots of alcohol’ helps stay calm during matches

Aryna Sabalenka and her team decided to engage a bit with fans ahead of the 2025 season and that led to Andrei Vasilevski funnily revealing that drinking “a lot of alcohol” helps him stay calm during the Belarusian’s matches.

On Instagram, the three-time Grand Slam champion hosted a Q&A session.

But instead of doing it alone, she decided to also include her hitting partner Vasilevski and coach Anton Dubrov this time.

One of the questions received read: “How do you stay so calm during Aryna’s matches?”

Former Belarusian doubles star Vasilevski replied: “Chamomile tea, Ashwagandha, A lot of alcohol.”

Sabalenka team’s celebration often include alcohol

After the 26-year-old captured her first US Open title in September, she revealed that the entire team would probably celebrate by “drinking a lot.”

“We’re probably gonna drink a lot,” the world No. 1 said.

Meanwhile, Sabalenka lifted her maiden Grand Slam title in 2023 January at the Australian Open.

And as soon as her team checked back into the hotel, they celebrated very hard.

“Can I say that (smiling)? Like straight after the title, we went back to the hotel and all my team was drunk. (Laughter.) I don’t know how many liters they drink that day. There was the most funny and, yeah, memorable moment,” the Belarusian shared two months after her Australian Open triumph.

After losing in three Grand Slam semifinals and a couple of times falling just short of winning a Slam, Sabalenka thought that her team collectively deserved to celebrate hard her maiden Slam victory.

“Why you’re like hanging your hat, hiding? That’s normal. That’s okay. I think everyone would do the same, no? Everyone was so stressed during that weeks, I think it was normal to have a little drink. Yeah, I didn’t drink,” she added at the time.

If Sabalenka completes a three-peat at the upcoming Australian Open, there is no doubt that she and her team will throw another big celebration.
