Carlos Alcaraz has won 16 ATP titles from 21 finals. The Spaniard plays at full pace until the US Open but struggles to repeat that in the closing months of the season. The young gun has reached only one ATP final after the last Major event of the season.
It came at last year’s ATP 500 event in Beijing. Carlos ousted Jannik Sinner after a massive battle, but it’s not enough to satisfy him! Speaking about his post-US Open struggles, Alcaraz acknowledged the problem and explained it.

The four-time Major winner loses energy and steam by competing in New York, getting tired from playing too many tournaments and spending little time at home. Combined with all that, the results have been way below his usual standard in the opening eight months of the season.
Carlos is aware of that and will change to maintain a high level in October and November this year. He felt better during last year’s fall season in comparison to 2023. The young gun hopes for even better results in 2025.

Alcaraz claimed his first Major crown at the US Open 2022. He wrapped up the year with the semi-final in Basel and the quarter-final in Paris before an injury forced him to skip the ATP Finals and Davis Cup Finals.
Carlos was 7-5 after the US Open in 2023. He fell to Jannik Sinner in the semi-final in Beijing and lost to Grigor Dimitrov in Shanghai. The young gun reached the semi-final on his ATP Finals debut, taking only five games against Novak Djokovic.
The Spaniard notched 15 wins in 2024 after the final Major of the season, raising his level in comparison to the previous years. Alcaraz prevailed over Sinner in an epic Beijing final, claiming his first post-US Open ATP title.

He lost to Tomas Machac and Ugo Humbert in Shanghai and Paris before missing the semi-final berth at the ATP Finals. Carlos will try to distribute his energy more efficiently and stay competitive in the season’s closing weeks, especially at indoor events.
“It’s difficult for me to maintain a high level after the US Open. I get tired in the season’s closing stages, playing many tournaments and spending too much time away from home. The post-US Open period has not been ideal for me.
However, last year I made improvements in comparison to 2023. I hope for an even better run this fall,” Carlos Alcaraz said.
