Shane Lowry is ready for a new challenge in his career, the next tournament on the calendar, the Farmers Insurance Open. The experienced Irishman remembers last year’s performance with nostalgia. Although he did not finish the tournament at the top, Lowry delighted the golf public with the first albatross of his career, holing his second shot from 256 yards on the par-5 sixth hole.
In an interview with Golf Channel, the 37-year-old stressed that he already knew where he would start the year, admitting that he likes this course, motivated to make a positive result.
“I’ve started my season a few times here so it kind of made sense to me,” Lowry told Golf Channel, as quoted by RTE.
“I like this type of golf. Obviously we’re playing two course here but the South Course is quite a tough golf course, a US Open venue and I like that type of golf so I do like coming here at the start of the year.
Just the way my schedule’s working out, I’m in all the elevated events, the Signature Events, so come here this week, play Pebble [Beach] next week and then on from there.”

The Irishman will have many challenges ahead of him with many great tournaments. The Irishman is excited about the start of the new season. The offseason was an opportunity to recharge the batteries, and it seems that Lowry is satisfied with how his offseason went.
Shane confirmed that he was in Ireland for four weeks, having no contact with the golf club during that period.
The experienced golfer did not forget to mention TGL, delighted by the atmosphere and novelties. TGL turned out to be a positive experience for everyone, golfers and fans alike.
“Played a bit of TGL, had some great fun doing that; that was some of the most enjoyable time I’ve had playing golf in a while so just trying to get back to working at it and planning for this season.”- he said.
