In a few days, the new season of the LIV Golf League will begin, and the first tournament will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The leaders of this Tour entered the new season with huge expectations, wanting to strengthen the product and raise it to an even higher level.
However, what may initially disappoint the Saudi backed Tour officials is the fact that some well-known names of the golf scene will not participate in the first tournament of this year.
Phil Mickelson, the captain of HyFlyers GC, shared the news with his fans via social media, stressing that he will not play in the first tournament due to an injury. The experienced golfer injured his shoulder last week but expects to return in style in Adelaide.
“While preparing for the season, I suffered a minor shoulder injury in the gym last week. I’m definitely disappointed that I will miss the season opener, but I look forward to playing in Adelaide.”- he wrote on social media.
Phil Mickelson talks about LIV Golf
An experienced golfer spoke about LIV in superlatives a few days ago, considering that this competition has great prospects in the future. Phil believes that this competition is going in the right direction, expecting big things. The fact that the leaders of LIV made huge changes before the start of the season inspires optimism that the future of this Tour could be bright.
“So there’s a lot of reasons why I believe LIV is going to be successful, but the number one reason would be something you wouldn’t think,” Mickelson said.
”That is this: It’s how you feel. This is where I’m going with this. You can identify if something is right for you or not based on how you feel.”
The famous golfer wants to recover as soon as possible and prepare for big challenges in the coming period.
