Tiger Woods was unable to play in the Genesis Invitational after his mother, Kultida Woods, passed away a few days earlier. Although he had originally planned to perform, Tiger decided to take a break to help him process her death. However, he has indicated that he will return to play in bigger events.
“I haven’t been able to do that,” Woods said, as quoted by ESPN.
“I’ll get back after it and look to play some of the bigger events.”
The famous golfer revealed that the death of his mother was a difficult process, stressing that his mother was his support. The 48-year-old golfer will probably need a period, as we said, to process her death more easily. It is difficult to expect that this great golfer will provide good games for many reasons, but just his appearance on golf courses will be enough to produce a reaction from the audience.
“Losing her has been a hard and difficult process to go through. Mom was my rock.”- he said.
Tiger Woods: We’re going to get this game going in the right direction
Tiger believes that in the coming period things will be ironed out, and that this sport will move in the right direction. In recent years, golf has undergone major changes, which have not exactly caused positive reactions. Tiger wants to play with the best golfers in the biggest tournaments. The current situation cannot allow him to do that.
“I think things are going to heal quickly. We’re going to get this game going in the right direction. It’s been heading in the wrong direction for a number of years and the fans want all of us to play together — all the top players playing together — and we’re going to make that happen.”-Woods said.
Given his importance in the world of golf, his words can inspire optimism.
