Paul McGinley, a famous golfer and a man who left a big mark in this sport, is impatient just like many. The experienced figure hopes that LIV Golf and the PGA Tour could reach a final deal, especially after the last meeting between Donald Trump and PGA officials.
McGinley stressed the best thing is the unification of both Tours, but he is aware that a somewhat longer period will be needed.
Paul emphasizes that things will not magically change, noting that it is difficult to expect everything to be ironed out just like that. However, the first step towards normalcy would be the unification of all parties, after which other things could be worked on.
“The best thing for the game is to come together somehow – it’s not going to be easy as we’ve seen, it’s taken a long time to get to where we are, but it sounds like we’re closer now than we ever have been,” McGinley told BBC Sport.
“It’s not going to start with everybody back as friends – it’ll be a slow process in that regard.
But the main thing is to find some kind of umbrella that both tours can work under as well as the DP World Tour and then try to get some kind of schedule out of that.”- he concluded.
Paul McGinley expects an agreement to be reached soon
The fans were especially surprised after Paul stressed that he had heard rumors that the unification could be confirmed soon, believing that it would happen even before the Masters. It would be a great thing for the golf scene, which is in a huge crisis, but also for all the participants.
Will both sides reasonably observe the situation, understand that something must change and take such an important step?
Recent events give optimism that better days are indeed waiting for us.
