Wyndham Clark talks NFL players in golf: They’d lose by 8 to 12 strokes a day

Wyndham Clark is increasingly a guest of various podcasts and shows, capturing the public’s attention with great performances. This time the American golfer was a guest of The Rich Eisen Show talking about an interesting topic; NFL players on the PGA Tour! Clark isn’t sure NFL players could be competitive on the PGA Tour, citing Tony Romo as one example.

Rich Eisen started with this topic, stressing that few NFL players think they could play on the PGA Tour. Tony Romo was the subject exclusively because after retiring, he focused on playing professional golf, aiming in previous years to play at the US Open. Nevertheless, a few still enjoy playing sports, but do they have the necessary quality to play on the big stage?.

Wyndham Clark calls such things ridiculous, believing it amounts to a comparison that he could play for the Denver Broncos at left tackle. Although he says he has played with NBA and NFL stars, he believes that professional golfers and such players are a completely different class.

The American emphasizes that some NFL players are probably good when it comes to golf, but playing on a real course, on the PGA Tour, would mean that they would lose to professional players by 8 to 12 strokes per day.

Clark then made the public laugh, after Eisen primarily asked him about Tony Romo, wanting to know how much this former NFL player could do in a professional career. The American golfer couldn’t help but mention Scheffler in a very interesting context.

“Just ask Romo how much money he’s given to Scottie Scheffler in money games they play in Dallas. And if it’s not in six figures then I’ll be shocked.”- Clark said.

It’s hard to know whether this will cause a reaction among NFL players, but it’s clear that they shouldn’t react furiously, considering that professionals in every sport are on a completely different level than amateurs.
