Andy Roddick tells Iga Swiatek how Jannik Sinner could help her amid doping backlash

Andy Roddick gave an interesting advice to Iga Swiatek as he thinks the Pole should reach out to Jannik Sinner and ask him how to deal with certain stuff.

As you probably already know very well, the Italian was cleared by the ITIA in his doping and didn’t get suspended but he didn’t avoid criticism and dealing with some nasty claims.

Two weeks ago, it was also revealed that the Polish tennis superstar failed a doping test. While she did get a short provisional suspension and eventually a one-month ban, she is pretty much dealing with the same stuff with which Sinner has dealt – the accusations that she received a preferential treatment.

Roddick tells Swiatek: Call Sinner

“If I am Iga I am probably calling him and saying are there any hacks that have helped you deal with it the way you have? You have almost got better in the post-mortem of the announcement,” the 2003 US Open champion said during his conversation for the Christian’s Court YouTube channel.

“There will certainly be things to deal with, she is going to get asked about it every time. It will be as if whoever has asked the question hasn’t been able to read her responses before, they are going to make her say it again and again. If I’m in her corner I would just say don’t have a moment where you are exhausted by it, just be patient with the process and do what you have to do. The more emotion you show, the more likely it is to be a story over and over again.”

Since it is the offseason, Swiatek isn’t currently getting any questions from the press. However, that will likely change when the 2025 season starts and she returns to action.

Sinner managed to block out the outside noise and now it remains to be seen if Swiatek can do the same.
