Aryna Sabalenka brutally honestly responds to Iga Swiatek saying she’d be good coach

Aryna Sabalenka admits she is “not sure” if she would be a good coach for Iga Swiatek but did mention that she could possibly help the Pole in the mental department.

In case you missed iT, the five-time Grand Slam champion named the Belarusian as the rival she’d be open to hiring one day as a coach.

After Novak Djokovic hired Andy Murray in the offseason, that prompted Reem Abulleil to ask various WTA stars if they would be open to doing something similar one day.

And Swiatek’s answer is one that drew the most attention because she named none other than Sabalenka.

“Petkovic is not playing anymore but I heard she has a really great eye and I always liked her and I think we would get along,” the 23-year-old said.

“I don’t know… Maybe Aryna. She is older than me so she is going to finish earlier and that would be funny.”

Sabalenka on if she’d be a good tennis coach: Not sure about that

On Instagram, the 26-year-old held a Q&A session with fans.

“Iga said that you would be a good tennis coach, what do you think about?” one of the questions that she received read.

“I’m not sure about that. Probably because of my crazy experience I could help with the mental part of the game…But once again… I’m not sure about that,” the Belarusian answered.

During this past Australian Open, Sabalenka said in one video for the tournament that she was “getting older and closer to retiring.”

In the same video, the world No. 1 hinted that she could possibly done with tennis by the age of 30.

If that happens, many will probably remember this Swiatek statement and start pushing for the Belarusian to become the Pole’s coach.

After all, Murray was just three months retired when he accepted Djokovic’s offer.
