Aryna Sabalenka has achieved a new incredible record on the courts of the Australian Open. The Belarusian, beating her friend Paula Badosa, has got her third consecutive final in Melbourne (who is playing right now against Madison Keys).
A result achieved in the past by only seven players. The world number one is also the fifth to reach five consecutive Grand Slam finals on hard courts. She in fact joined Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles and Martina Hingis.
But that’s not all. The WTA No.1 is the third player in the last 10 years to win more than 20 consecutive matches in a women’s singles Major after Serena Williams (US Open and Wimbledon) and Iga Swiatek (Roland Garros).

“I’m super happy to be back in the final, it’s going to be a great battle no matter who I face. As for today’s match, I think it was incredible. It’s always difficult to play against a friend, but I’m happy that she’s playing at her best level. I told her that soon things will go well and she will be able to make her dream come true. I feel at home in Melbourne.
I thought about this last year already, I feel great here. I also get a lot of support, which I’ve felt even more this season. Coming back to play this Slam is like coming home in every way. I go out on the court and I hear everyone shouting my name, supporting me, I get goosebumps every time I hear my name. It’s incredible to feel so much love here,” she said at the press conference.
