Since then, Sabalenka has also made a nice start to her Indian Wells run, overcoming McCartney Kessler and Lucia Bronzetti to set up a round-of-16 meeting against Sonay Kartal.
Following her latest win, the 26-year-old joined Tennis Channel for a conversation – and to no one’s surprise – the hosts didn’t miss out on the opportunity to ask her about meeting Agassi and the repors sthat they did some work together.
Sabalenka: Agassi is a nice, smart guy… I was impressed with his court timing
“A lot of things. We actually had a great chat after the exhibition and I mean it’s obvious that he’s smart. We had really great chat, he gave me his advice on tennis which actually working so, thank you Andre,” the world No. 1 said on Tennis Channel.
“He’s such a nice guy and he is timing his tennis is still ready good, and I was really impressed by his timing and he was like, ‘Oh I am not training that much, I am not playing tennis,’ and then he serves, and his serve is better than mine. I’m like the timing, I was like okay, I think we are doing something wrong.
“But it was fun playing that exhibition especially like playing with Andre it was fun.”
It remains to be seen if Agassi’s secret advice can help Sabalenka win her maiden Indian Wells title this week.
