The news of the collaboration between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray was one of the most surprising of the latter part of 2024. No one expected these two legends, rivals until a few months ago, to decide to work together in 2025.

Everyone knew that the Serbian needed new motivations at this stage of his career, having gone through a 2024 season far below expectations. The former world number 1 is still hungry and wants to break new records before retiring from tennis, which is why he decided to contact his former rival proposing a very fascinating collaboration.
The former Scottish champion left the professional tour at the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024 and hardly anyone expected that he would be stopped for such a short time. The 3-time Grand Slam champion had already received several interesting offers, but Nole’s proposal could not be refused.
Bublik slams Murray
Some consider this partnership very intriguing, while others are convinced that it is just a marketing operation that will not help Djokovic win another Grand Slam title. The 37-year-old from Belgrade is already practicing at Melbourne Park, where the Australian Open will begin on January 12.

In a long interview with ‘Match TV’, Kazakh ace Alexander Bublik strongly criticized Murray’s choice to become Djokovic’s new coach: “He has joined Novak Djokovic’s team. These are attempts to cling to something that no longer exists, to some echoes of the past. I think this is a problem.
I hope that it will not be like that for me, but I can’t say for sure. Maybe at 36, I will go to the Challenger in Bangkok, but I still hope that I will leave with a calm soul.”
The 24-time Grand Slam champion played the Brisbane ATP 250 last week, where he was defeated by Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals.
