Australian Open 2025: Sabalenka with Gauff and Zheng, Swiatek with Rybakina

Aryna Sabalenka, defending champion and No.1 seed, will play her Australian Open 2025 first round against the American Sloane Stephens. On the opposite side Katerina Siniakova will be the opponent of the No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek.

Jasmine Paolini, No. 4 seed ended up in the lower part of the draw with Swiatek and has a potential quarterfinal against Elena Rybakina.

The WTA No.1 will play in the first round against the American former winner of the US Open; for the Belarusian a possible third round against Linda Noskova and in the round of 16 there could be a new challenge against Mirra Andreeva. Qinwen Zheng closes the first quarterfinal and could be Sabalenka’s opponent in the quarterfinals.

Second quarter of the draw opened by Coco Gauff, seeded number 3 who debuts in an interesting first round against Sofia Kenin. In Gauff’s zone also Karolina Muchova and Jelena Ostapenko. Possible opponent of Gauff in the quarters could be Jessica Pegula, number 7 in the ranking.

The bottom half of the draw is opened by Elena Rybakina. The Kazakh tennis player debuts against Jones; in her zone of the draw there are also Madison Keys and Danielle Collins. Paolini, is the number 4 seed and could play in the quarterfinals against the Kazakh.

First round for Paolini against an opponent coming from the qualifiers, second round against the winner of Townsend-Zarazua and the seed she could face in the second round is Elina Svitolina. Possible eighth final for the strongest Italian tennis player in the draw against Haddad Maia or Boulter.

Last quarter opened by Emma Navarro, number 8, who awaits Peyton Stearns. Also in the zone are Daria Kasatkina and Anna Kalinskaya. In this zone of the draw there is also. Swiatek, seeded number 2, will play against Katerina Siniakova and then against the winner of the match between Sramkova and Volynets.
