Battle for Wimbledon fourth seed between Jack Draper, Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz, Lorenzo Musetti

The top three seeds for Wimbledon 2025 have been confirmed but it is a tight battle between four players to be the fourth seed at the grass-court Grand Slam.

Jannik Sinner will be the top seed at the third major of the year at the All England Club as he remains at No 1 in the ATP Rankings and he will be followed by Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.

But the fourth spot is still to be decided with Jack Draper, Novak Djokovic, Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz separated by just 315 points in the official rankings.

It is slightly different in the Live Rankings as Draper, Musetti and Fritz all have points to defend/earn between now and the cutoff date for the seedings at Wimbledon.

Djokovic currently sits at No 4 with 4,630 points in the Live Rankings and he is followed by Draper (4,550), Fritz (4,535) and Musetti (4,470).

But while Djokovic is currently in the driving seat, he is unlikely to remain there as he hasn’t signed up for any warm-up tournaments ahead of Wimbledon. He also didn’t play any events before the grass major last year so he will remain on 4,630 points.

Draper, of course, is the defending champion at Stuttgart and his 250 points from 2024 has already been removed while he also reached the quarter-final at Queen’s Club last year.

The British No 1 will play only at Queen’s Club – which runs from June 16-23 – so he can only achieve a maximum of 4,950 points if he wins his home event.

Fritz appears to be in a good position as he has signed up for the Stuttgart Open (currently taking place) and Queen’s Club. He didn’t play in Stuttgart last year while he is defending 100 points at Queens.

He also won the title at Eastbourne last year, but the tournament doesn’t count towards the Wimbledon seedings.

Carlos Alcaraz increases lead over Jannik Sinner in Race To Turin and year-end No 1 battle

The American has a ceiling of 5,185, but he will need to win both titles to achieve that while there are other permutations that will see him move ahead of Djokovic and Draper.

Musetti played in Stuttgart last year and reached the semi-final while at Queen’s last year as he finished runner-up to Tommy Paul. This year he will play only at Queen’s Club.

The Italian will move to 4,140 points after his Queen’s Club tally comes off while he will he can only get to a maximum of 4,640 with a title run in London.

Being seeded fourth is crucial at any Grand Slam as it means you will face one of the top two seeds in the semi-final and the other one in the final.

But if you are seeded fifth you could potentially face Zverev in the quarter-final, Alcaraz in the quarter-final and Sinner in the final.

Meanwhile, if Djokovic is further down the seeded list could find himself having to face the likes of Alcaraz and Sinner as early as the fourth round.

But then again Djokovic was seeded sixth at the French Open and beat Zverev in the quarter-final before coming unstuck against Sinner in the semi-final.
