Coco Gauff has just landed her second WTA 1000 title in Beijing and it has again come by beating Karolina Muchova.
The American, who was seeded at No. 4, gave no chance to the former world No. 8 in the China Open final after claiming a very dominant 6-1 6-3 win to win her eight WTA title and improve to an impressive 8-1 record in her finals played.
Since Gauff struggled a bit throughout the tournament and didn’t look to be at her best while the Czech was playing lights out, some even had the current world No. 49 as the favorite in Beijing.
But when the final started, there was only one player as the 20-year-old completely outplayed Muchova and needed just an hour and 16 minutes of play to get the job done against the player who defeated Aryna Sabalenka and Zheng Qinwen in the previous two rounds.
In the summer of 2023, the American became a WTA 1000 champion after beating the Czech in the Cincinnati final. Now, she has two of those in her collection while Muchova remains on zero trophies in that category.
It should be noted Gauff also beat the former world No. 8 in the 2023 US Open semifinal and now owns a 3-0 head-to-head in their meetings.

How Gauff ousted Muchova?
The No. 4 seed made a lightning start, collecting breaks in the second and sixth games to routinely bag the opener.
After basically not showing up in the first set, the Czech showed some signs of life at the start of the second set after earning her first break and opening a 2-0 lead.
But just when it started to look like that Muchova’s comeback might have started, the 2023 French Open finalist shut down again and lost the next four games.
With the 28-year-old serving to stay in the final in the ninth game, Gauff claimed her third break of the set and fifth of the match to complete her dominant win with just four games lost.
