Bernhard Langer, a 67-year-old golfer, managed to do a great thing with his son Jason (24) and win this year’s PNC Championship. Although Tiger and his son Charlie Woods had a great pair on the opposite side, Langer senior and junior showed more quality and deservedly celebrated.
Golf fans seem to have had a greater desire for Charlie and his father to celebrate, but this is a tournament that has a special atmosphere, and it doesn’t seem to matter who won in the end. Bernhard stressed after the tournament that he and his son had done a great thing. Many did not expect that the German golfer and his son could actually make such a big step.
Bernhard Langer on his son: I am very proud of him the way Jason handled himself
The experienced golfer is especially proud of his son, who played against Tiger for the first time and was in the spotlight. Still, Jason, who used to play college golf, did great and looked like a golfer with years of experience behind him. Bernhard admitted that he is proud of the way his son endured everything.
“I’m just so proud of him,” Langer said, as quoted by ksat.
“First time playing with Tiger in the spotlight. It’s not easy. A lot of people are moving. They are really not always interested in what we do. But very proud of him the way he handled himself. He hit a couple of fantastic iron shots into 18 to give us the opportunity to make birdie and then eagle.”
A particularly interesting moment of this tournament was Charlie’s hole-in-one. The 15-year-old surprised the golf public and revealed that this was the tournament he enjoyed the most. It is clear that Tiger’s son is improving year after year, and he still has a lot of room to improve. Over the years, we can only expect great things from him, and we have no doubt that Charlie has the potential to reach the top of the golf scene.
