Golf fans were able to follow in the last few days that Rick Sheils, a famous YouTuber, joined LIV Golf, signing a contract with controverisal Tour a few days ago.
In this way, the American YouTuber will help the Saudi backed Tour to create content and become recognizable in the world of golf.
The 38-year-old has serious ambitions in the current year, as he wants his work to be even more noticeable and his influence on the YouTube scene to remain just as great.
The popular YouTuber has almost 3 million subscribers on the YT channel, and now the focus of his content will obviously be on LIV Golf.
If media captions are to be believed, one of the YouTuber’s first planned videos includes Sheils playing with Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka.
Incident
Golf fans may remember the incident between Brooks and Sheils at the 2022 Open Championship. Sheils had an invitation to the VIP section, where Koepka was at the same time. The YouTuber decided to introduce himself, but Brooks’ reaction shocked him.
“I see Brooksy, here’s there, I think this is cool. I might introduce myself,” Shiels recalled on his podcast ‘The Rick Shiels Golf Show’.
Dream scenario… he will come up to me and give me a big hug and say, ‘Rick, love your videos, pal, that was the dream, let’s have some champagne, let’s have some Sambuca.’
He missed the cut. This was Saturday. I’m like, ‘here we go, Brooksy’. So I turn to him and he looks at me right in the eye and he taps the security guard next to him.”
Immediately after this, the bouncer turned back to him, Kepka pointed at him and his friend, indicating to the bouncer to remove them from the VIP section. In those moments, the YouTuber wondered what he could have done to offend Koepka, marking such a moment as embarassing.
“90 seconds ago I walked in here like cock of the land and now I’m walking out with a tail between my legs.”
