Bryson DeChambeau sets his sights on the Masters as his top priority this year

Bryson DeChambeau is motivated to make big strides this year, and it’s clear that the Masters will be his priority this year. The 31-year-old golfer has been trying to make a big step in this Major for several years, and last year he came closest to that goal.

The LIV Golfer finished T6 last year.

In an interview with Garrett Johnston, the popular golfer admitted that even as an amateur he dreamed of winning the Masters. His first experience playing in this tournament was a special moment for him that he will never forget.

“I’ve just always wanted to win the Masters. That dates backs to my amateur days and even before that as a junior when I was watching Tiger win it. His chip in on 16 in 2005 really sold it for me.

I thought to myself ‘OK, this is an event that I want to be a part of.’ When I saw Augusta for the first time and experienced the people there and the pro shop, the people in the shop and the head pros that are there, they’re just fantastic.”-DeChambeau said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.

Bryson DeChambeau on Augusta

Bryson says it’s a great feeling to play at Augusta, and to come back year after year. Although he hasn’t achieved his goal yet, DeChambeau has no doubt that if he continues to work hard and learn from his mistakes, he’ll hold the Masters trophy in his hands.

The 31-year-old revealed that a career grand slam is a priority for him, although he is aware of how difficult it is to achieve such a feat, considering that only a few golfers in the history of the competition have achieved it. Bryson has so far managed to win the US Open twice, while falling short of winning the other three Majors.

Who knows, maybe this year’s Masters will be his lucky day.
