Carlos Alcaraz has a very simple solution to dealing with fame as the 21-year-old says he just told himself to remain humble and true to himself.
The Spaniard, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday in May, was only 18 when he became a Masters champion in 2022 Miami.
Today, he is a four-time Grand Slam champion – has had a couple of stints at the world No. 1 spot – and is widely regarded as one of the very best in the game and someone tipped to dominate for many more years.
While Alcaraz is off to a lightning start to his career and on a path to one day finish as an all-time great, his demeanor and attitude have stayed the same since Day 1.
That is also one of the big reasons why he quickly grew such a big fanbase and became a fan favorite.
Alcaraz: The most important thing is staying true to yourself
“Honestly, you handle it naturally and just keep moving forward,” the 21-year-old told El Nuevo Dia.
“Your family and the people around you always help by supporting you and guiding you on the right path.
“You also start realizing things for yourself and try to take it as naturally as possible.
“Most importantly, you stay true to yourself, not changing your personality or who you are, and that helps you manage it in the best way.”

Meanwhile, Alcaraz didn’t manage to win his first Australian Open title this year after losing to Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinal.
However, he is still a solid 11-3 this year – he made it all the way at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam and also had a quarterfinal outing in Doha.
Next week, the world No. 3 will try to complete a three-peat at the Indian Wells Masters and also win his first big title of 2025.
