No female athlete has bagged more money this year than Coco Gauff as the 20-year-old has joined Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka is being the third woman with topping over $30 million in a single year.
According to Sportico, the American tennis star collected $9.4 million via tournament prize money this year and additional $21 million through sponsors – which brings the total to $30.4 million.
With that sum, the 2023 US Open was by far the highest-paid female athlete for 2024 as freestyle skiier Eileen Gu – who comes at second place – pocketed $22.1 million.
Inside the top-10, there are five other WTA stars – Iga Swiatek ($21.4 million), Zheng Qinwen ($20.6 million), Aryna Sabalenka ($17.7 million), Osaka ($15.9 million) and Emma Raducanu ($14.7 million).
Coco Gauff is the world’s highest-earning female athlete, taking home over $30 million this year.

Gauff didn’t win a Grand Slam this year but earned more than last year
Last year, the world No. 3 earned $23 million. Although she didn’t manage to land a Grand Slam title this year, she increased her earnings in 2024 by $8.3 million.

And if you wonder how, winning the 2023 US Open title helped Gauff land several new sponsorship and endorsement deals.
“Winning US Open, obviously if you win a Grand Slam you get more brands reaching out to you. These commitments take a lot. People think we just post a photo on the internet with that brand. People don’t realize it’s like an 8-hour or 10-hour day. Lots of times you have commitments or have to do an event. For me it’s just been about trying to still capitalize on the moment, but also protecting my peace and my mental health and still playing the game I love. I think my team has done a great job helping me with that,” Gauff explained at the time,” the top-ranked American female tennis player said in late 2023.
Gauff’s sponsorship and endorsement deals list includes brands such as Rolex, New Balance, Barilla, Baker Tilly, Bose and UPS.
