Donald Trump under fire for prioritizing golf over honoring fallen soldiers

After fierce criticism of the US president, Donald Trump, regarding his economic moves, this time the Democratic leader caused anger at himself for another reason. Namely, the leader of the biggest economic power uses every moment to play golf, even at the cost of missing the transfer of four dead American soldiers.

Donald Trump decided to attend the LIV Golf event at his golf course, producing harsh criticism. The US leader sent Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to receive the remains of soldiers who died in a training accident.

In addition to playing golf and speaking with LIV Golf leaders, Trump spoke at a $1 million per person fundraising dinner. The strongest reactions seem to have come from journalists, who emphasize that Donald has become a leader who does what he wants, not caring too much for others.

His golf role

It is known that Donald Trump is the main mediator in the negotiations between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, and the reactions to his involvement are really interesting.

Krakauer, the executive producer of the Megyn Kelly podcast and a media correspondent, wanted to explain that there is a bigger reason behind this, considering the chaotic events in the world. He believes that Trump made such moves because the situation is problematic on several fronts, and he had to choose one path.

“I do think that it was a little bit surprising because maybe he would have gone to this dignified transfer in another era, but right now, there’s so many different balls in the air when it comes to foreign policy, domestic policy and everyday is deciding what optics you have to just sort of decide what is the most important that moment,” he said, as quoted by Independent.

“And I think he made it. He made the decision about — from a foreign policy point of view — to go to the Saudi event.”

Krakauer stresses that things should not be seen as one-dimensional, as such golf events have an aspect of diplomacy, because the creators of LIV Golf are actually Saudis, who are ready to cooperate with the current US president.
