Englishman John Parry with a great final comeback highlighted by a 64 (-8), best partial of the day, for a total of 274 (70 69 71 64, -14), won the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, organized in collaboration by DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour on the Mont Choisy Le Golf course (par 72), in the Grand Baie tourist village in Mauritius, where Andrea Pavan ranked 19th with 282 (-6) followed by Renato Paratore 22nd with 283 (-5).

Parry made an eagle, seven birdies and a bogey, climbing the ranking by eight steps and overtaking South African Dylan Naidoo, leader after three rounds and then second with 276 (-12), reached by his compatriot Christo Lamprecht, winner in 2023 of the prestigious The Amateur Championship.
Home players in the spotlight, but not on the top step of the podium, despite the fourth position with 277 (-11) of Jovan Rebula and the fifth with 278 (-10) of Christiaan Burne and Richard Sterne, another author of a 64 (-8, an eagle, six birdies), flanked by the Norwegian Andreas Halvorsen and the German Freddy Schott. The third to score a 68 was the Scotsman Scott Jamieson (also for him an eagle and six birdies), ninth with 279 (-9) together with the Danish Jacob Skov Olesen, the American Corey Shaun and the Englishman Eddie Pepperell, who was at the top after 54 holes together with Naidoo.
John Parry, 37, from Harrogate, a pro since 2007, is winning his second title on the DP World Tour, which also counts for the Sunshine Tour, after having won the Vivendi Cup way back in 2010. He returned to the main circuit thanks to his third victory of the season on the Challenge Tour, sealed in the Italian Challenge Open last September at Argentario GC. For the success he received a cheque for 245,764 euros on a prize pool of approximately 1,438,000 euros (1,500,000 dollars the official amount).
Andrea Pavan (69 72 72 69), in his second competition of the new season, concluded his performance with a partial of 69 (-3, one eagle, three birdies, two bogeys), improving after the 24th place in the previous Alfred Dunhill Championship. Paratore (68 73 72 70) closed with a 70 (-2, five birdies, three bogeys) to cash in after two previous unlucky outings in Australia. Gregorio De Leo, 150th with 155 (75 80), did not make the cut after 36 holes, making his debut after having earned the ‘card’ for the continental circuit at the Qualifying School.
