Emma Raducanu is looking to cash in on her fondness for grass courts over the next few weeks and she has added another big tournament to her schedule ahead of Wimbledon.
The 2021 US Open champion started her grass court campaign for 2025 with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 victory over Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa as she booked her place in the second round at the new WTA 500 tournament at the Queen’s Club.
That victory pushed Raducanu up to provisional British No 1 in the live WTA Rankings, as he battles it out with Katie Boulter for the top spot.
Raducanu is planning to head to Berlin for another WTA 500 tournament next week and now it has been confirmed she has entered her name for the WTA 250 event the week before Eastbourne.
It remains to be seen whether she will play in the Eastbourne event if she enjoys deep runs at Queen’s and in Berlin, with a seeding at Wimbledon within her grasp as she looks to gather more ranking points.

How Lois Boisson broke an Emma Raducanu WTA Rankings record with French Open run
Former British No 1 Tim Henman has been a big supporter of Raducanu since she broke through in spectacular fashion at the US Open almost four years ago and suggested the 22-year-old is well placed to shine on grass courts.
Speaking to Tennis365 during his stint as a pundit for TNT Sports at Roland Garros, Henman suggested Raducanu is ready to make a big run on grass courts over the next few weeks.
“She is moving onto a surface that will give her little more assistance and will suit her game,” Henman told Tennis365. “This is not about the next four weeks for Emma, it’s about the next four years and where she can go.
“What is success? It is for her to get back into the top 30 or maybe the top 10? It’s about being the best version of yourself and maximising your potential.
“Now she has got a good team around her and I hope she sticks with it. Petch has been around the game for a long time and has been good for her.
“She has played lots of tournaments, been on court for a lot of matches and built up that physical resilience over what is a long season.
“I’m sure she will be licking some wounds after that defeat [against Swiatek] and the upside of finishing early at Roland Garros is she can put the clay court shoes away, head home and get ready for grass. I don’t have any concerns so long as she keeps on this path.”
Raducanu will leap into a seeded position at Wimbledon if she can get into the top 32 of the WTA Rankings ahead of the draw and she needs around 300 ranking points from her next two events to get into the mix for that rankings leap.
That would equate to three or four more wins at Queen’s and in Berlin before she plays in Eastbourne.
