Fan calls Naomi Osaka a fluke: the Japanes harshly rips him

Due to a back injury, Naomi Osaka was forced to retire before the start of the decisive set in the match against Coco Gauff, valid for access to the quarterfinals of the China Open in Beijing. The Japanese was leading by a set and a break when she began to lose confidence and feel pain. A pain that prevented her from moving forward.

A user, through a comment on Threads, called Naomi Osaka a fluke. Due to a back injury, Naomi Osaka was forced to retire before the start of the decisive set in the match against Coco Gauff, valid for access to the quarterfinals of the China Open. The Japanese was leading by a set and a break when she began to lose confidence and feel pain. A pain that prevented her from moving forward.

The Japanese responded harshly to the provocation and wrote: “I read that someone called me a fluke. How can you be a fluke with four Slams won, having lit the Olympic torch, having beaten several top-20 players and being close to the top-50 a year after giving birth? But please, you could not touch a single one of my successes with even a fingernail.”

The user’s comment against the Japanese came after Naomi had written – through an Instagram story – the reasons that had forced her to withdraw from the match against Gauff.

“Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I am extremely grateful and happy to have played in Beijing. Having said that, I feel I have to reveal some behind the scenes about today. My back locked up during practice and honestly I wasn’t even sure I could play, but I wanted to try. Unfortunately, things got progressively worse during the match,” she said.

Meanwhile, Osaka has made official her new sporting collaboration with Patrick Mouratoglou, one of the best coaches on the tennis Tour.

“He’s my coach. I hope for the long term. I like the way he coaches, I think it will be interesting. I’m at a stage in my career where I don’t want to have any regrets. I need to learn as much as I can now and Patrick seems like the right person to get the information I want to learn more things,” she said.
