Davis Love III, a well-known name in the world of golf, had a successful open heart surgery. He had valve issues years ago, and in the end the decision was that surgery was the only solution.
Jim Nanty, also a well-known name in the world of golf, confirmed this information during the final round of Farmers.
In an interview with the media, Love III shared that the procedure was successful. He is facing a recovery process, for which it is not known how long it will last. Davis hopes to recover as soon as possible, having some plans in mind.
The 60-year-old thanked everyone for the massive support.
The icon of this sport did not forget to thank the doctors who really did a great job. Behind him stood a strong team, which has enormous experience in these types of procedures.
“I’m extremely grateful for all the well wishes, prayers, and messages I have received. I have been blessed with great care at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Dr. John R. Cangemi, Dr. David J. Cangemi, Dr. Peter M. Pollak guided me to this surgery with Dr. John Haney.
I’m grateful for them and their teams’ expertise and care, and I am motivated to prove them right and get back to playing golf by this summer!”
When can we expect Love III to return to golf courses?
It is not known when Love III will return to professional duties, and when we will see him again on golf courses. The 60-year-old worked as an analyst in recent years, but did not stay there for long, stressing that he wanted to focus on his family. Playing this sport for years, Davis wanted to make up for lost time with his family.
He also experienced great stress four years ago, when his family home was destroyed after a fire. Love III looks forward to the future and the opportunities ahead.
