Just a shout out for Elina Svitolina, who last week won her first title at the Internationaux de Strasbourgin in her comeback from time away having a child. Svitolina, a semi-finalist at both Wimbledon and the US Open in 2019 as well as former world number 3, followed it up nicely with a win over seeded Martina Trevisan in the first round of the French Open. If she’s playing top 30 tennis already, watch out for a return to the top 10 in the near future. Good luck! Let it continue. It’s nice to focus on a positive story for a change. I’m partial to Svitolina because she’s the highest ranking player to have given my son an autograph. She politely signed his giant tennis ball after beating Shelby Rogers at the 2017 US Open. It was great to see her stay around and sign so many autographs. So much difficulty and heaviness going on in her world right now with the Ukraine war. I’m sure it’s hard to spread joy. All the more reason to celebrate the early success of her comeback.

So what do you think? Will Svitolina reach the top 10 again?
