Jack Sock is blasting the entire Jannik Sinner doping situation as the former world No. 8 thinks that the three-time Grand Slam champion definitely received a preferential treatment.
After the ITIA investigated the 23-year-old’s doping case and later cleared him of any wrongdoing, the WADA appealed their verdict and wanted a ban for the Italian because they felt that he should face some responsibility for the mistake of his physio.
But instead of meeting in a CAS court in mid-April, the two parties settled on a three-month doping ban, which started on February 9th and will end on May 4th.
Reflecting on, Sock said the entire process was “ridiculous to him.”
While making his point, the former American tennis star also brought up the Mikael Ymer case, who was suspended because of three missed doping tests in a span of 12 months.

“I think it’s bulls—. I think it’s, the whole thing is ridiculous to me,” the 2017 Paris Masters champion said on the Nothing Major Podcast.
“I don’t think you can have a Mikael Ymer-type player who basically gets suspended for a year or two. It has to retire from the sport because he missed three tests. And then you have a player just because he’s a top player fail a drug test and only get three months.”
After the settlement news was announced, Stan Wawrinka said he “does not believe in a clean sport” while Nick Kyrgios said that “fairness doesn’t exist in tennis.”
But WADA general counsel Ross Wenzel strongly denied that Sinner was favored because of his status.
“This was a case that was a million miles away from doping,” WADA official Wenzel told BBC Sport.
“The scientific feedback that we received was that this could not be a case of intentional doping, including micro-dosing.”
