With his success in the first round of the Australian Open 2025 over the Chilean tennis player Nicolas Jarry, the ATP No.1 Jannik Sinner has achieved a truly extraordinary record.
With his victory in three sets 7-6 7-6 6-1 over the Chilean tennis player, the Italian got his 15th consecutive victory on hard courts in the Grand Slam tournaments. And Jannim is only the fourth player since 2000 to achieve this feat. A goal that is worth even more, if we consider the other three names that are part of this exclusive club.
Sinner started this streak at the Australian Open 2024, with seven matches won in that Slam culminating in the final with Daniil Medvedev. Then the Italian won seven matches in a row at the 2024 US Open, triumphing in the final against Taylor Fritz.

And with the success against Jarry, the number of consecutive successes in the Slams on hard courts has become fifteen. The last defeat on hard courts at Major level of the world number 1 dates back to September 2023, when he lost in New York in the round of 16 to Alexander Zverev.
The Italian tennis player thus became the fourth player since 2000 to achieve 15 consecutive successes on hard courts in a Majors. The other three tennis players to achieve this were Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Three very important names in the history of tennis.
We recall Jannik is defending for the first time in his career a Slam title: on 16 January, the Italian will play the 2nd round of the tournament, match in which he will face the Australian tennis player Tristan Schoolkate.
