Jordan Spieth turns down TGL: Interesting reasons

TGL is a league that captures attention week after week. Created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, in collaboration with the PGA Tour, TGL aim to do amazing things. However, they are constantly thinking about their future; Their desire is to hire a few more famous names from the world of golf, and make this competition even stronger.

The golf league simulator is interested in Jordan Spieth, but the American golfer obviously has a different vision of his future.

In an interview with The Smylie Show, Jordan admitted that he has spoken with TGL officials, but the fact that he has two children is a complicating factor for him. Spieth wants to devote himself to his children, as his life is significantly different from what it was a few years ago.

“I’ve spoken with those guys from the very beginning,” Spieth said, as quoted by Irish Golfer

“Just with where I’m at in life, with my two young kids, and living in Dallas, it just isn’t a great time right now, given when it is in our schedule. You’re seeing most of those guys turn it down, but most of those guys either live there, live close to there, or don’t have multiple kids under four years old. So, it’s a little different place in life right now.”

Jordan Spieth shares his views

Spieth admits that the match between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy caught his attention, calling it exciting. In addition, he is enthusiastic about the concept and many other factors of this league. The intentions of Woods, Rory and TGL are clear: To create innovations on the PGA Tour, but also in the world of golf, and at the same time to generate reactions from the audience.

“But certainly, the Tiger vs. Rory [match] was pretty exciting right to the end, and from what I’m hearing, [the Presidents Day triple-header] was, too. The concept is pretty cool. I’m having a different demographic ask me about it at the course than your typical network consumers of a PGA Tour event on the weekend. They seem to be accessing what they’re trying to access, which is great if it is another way to grow the game.”- he concluded.
