Ludvig Aberg praises European golfers’ success ahead of Ryder Cup

This year’s golf season is specific in many ways, and it seems that European golfers are particularly successful. The last victory in the series, then by Ludvig Aberg at the Genesis Invitational, can awaken positive emotions in the captain of Europe, Luke Donald, for whom it is important that every individual be in shape before this competition in September.

In addition to Aberg, Rory McIlory, Sepp Straka, as well as several others who played several good tournaments are equally impressive.

In an interview with the media, the young Swede pointed out that this is a great thing for everyone, stressing that European golfers are very high quality.

“I think it’s great,” said Åberg, as quoted by Sky Sports

“It speaks about qualities of the European side and I think Luke is going to be pretty pleased when he sees European success on the PGA Tour and the European Tour.”

Ludvig Aberg: I think you sort of expect Rory to play well and him to win tournaments

Aberg made his debut at the Ryder Cup two years ago, as a 23-year-old who was labeled by many as the greatest talent in the last few years.

Aberg is aware of the quality of his teammates, especially Rory McIlory, who will surely be the main weapon of the Europeans at Bethpage Black.

He didn’t forget to mention Detry, as well as a few others.

The Swedish golfer hopes that his team can do something great, celebrating on the away ground.

“I think you sort of expect Rory to play well and him to win tournaments. I played Tom [Detry] for the first two days at Torrey – he’s a great player and I think he’s going to be a force this year on the PGA Tour.

I think it is great for everyone and hopefully we can sort of keep that going and have some momentum going into the Ryder Cup.”- he concluded.
