Jannik Sinner’s trial relating to his doping case will take place on 16 and 17 April before the CAS in Lausanne. The world No.1 has faced tremendous stress from March 2024 until today and hoped that the ITIA ruling in the summer of last year would put an end to this story, before WADA decided to appeal.
The Italian ace – who could suffer a suspension from 1 to 2 years – has always collaborated with the authorities in recent months and has continued to play his best tennis without complaining, demonstrating a truly incredible mental strength for a boy of just 23 years old.
The champion from Sesto Pusteria started 2025 by lifting his second trophy in a row at the Australian Open and confirming that he is the undisputed leader of the men’s tour, despite Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz being always ready to undermine him with his infinite talent.
After taking a week off, the 3-time Grand Slam champion has recently resumed practicing in Monte Carlo and is preparing for the Doha ATP 500 scheduled for next week.
Sinner could change his schedule
According to the latest rumors, Jannik could change his schedule due to the trial before the CAS in Lausanne.
Unlike past years, Sinner was willing to play the Munich ATP from April 14 to 20 instead of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, in order to make the transition from hard courts to red clay more gradual.
However, his lawyers would have advised him to be present at the hearings to be held on April 16 and 17. For this reason, the world number 1 could skip the German tournament and play the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 scheduled for the previous week (from 6 to 13 April).
A clue in this sense also came from the social pages of the Monte Carlo tournament, in which it is hinted that the Italian will participate in the event in April. The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria reached the semifinals as his best result in the Principality (in 2023 and 2024).
