Nick Kyrgios admits he used to party hard to the point where he would black out but claims that hasn’t been happening to him lately.
Before kicking off his Grand Slam comeback at the Australian, the 29-year-old joined Wide World of Sports’ The Hundred for a conversation.
And since it was an open chat with some non-tennis topics included, the interviewer didn’t miss out on the opportunity to ask the 29-year-old about his partying habits.
“All right, what percent of Australians have woken up after a party not knowing where they are?” the former world No. 13 was asked.
Kyrgios responded: “Oh, that’s got to be like 75%.”
After claiming that the majority of the Australians have at least once blacked out during partying, the 29-year-old was asked if he was among the group and if it happened to him this year.
“No, not this year, no. Okay, that used to happen a fair bit throughout my career,” he answered.
Thanasi Kokkinakis was mad at Kyrgios for missing out on a post-Australian Open win party
Exactly three years ago, the Special K’s became Grand Slam champions together after winning the 2022 Australian Open men’s doubles title.
Following the triumph, Kokkinakis didn’t hide that he was preparing for a big celebratory party.
But that night, he wasn’t accompanied by Kyrgios.
And recently, the 28-year-old revealed that he was really mad over that.
“I remember a fun night afterwards that he (Nick) wasn’t a part of because he took an early flight the next morning which I’m still p—– off with him about! So I had to do it for the both of us,” Kokkinakis told Express-Sport last month.
Meanwhile, Kyrgios’ Australian Open comeback didn’t go that well since he was beaten by Jacob Fearnley in straight sets in his opening match.
