Nick Kyrgios is not done with taking shots at the WADA-Jannik Sinner settlement as the Australian questions why the Italian would accept a doping ban if he were as innocent as he claimed to be.
On Saturday, the WADA announced the CAS court date was halted after they settled on a three-month suspension with the world No. 1, which started on February 9th and runs through May 4th.
In their statement, the WADA confirmed that they didn’t think that Sinner intentionally or knowingly took a banned substance.
But although they accepted his explanation that his former physio was to blame, they also believed that the 23-year-old should bear some responsibility for the mistake of his team member and therefore get some suspension.
Kyrgios was left baffled by how it all unfolded and even claimed that other players – including some Slam winners – were reaching out to him to express their support for his views.
Kyrgios: So you were innocent but now being suspended… Putrid, cooked…
“So you were innocent and we were getting fed that you were innocent but now you are suspended from playing the sport? Make it make sense. I’ve got multiple players in my DM’s on how putrid this is (laughing emoji). Even Grand Slam champions. Cooked,” the Australian wrote on X.

When the news dropped on Saturday, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist was one of the first to react with a very strong statement.
“So wada come out and say it would be a 1-2 year ban. Obviously Sinner’s team have done everything in their power to just go ahead and take a 3 month ban, no titles lost, no prize money lost. Guilty or not? Sad day for tennis. Fairness in tennis does not exist,” Kyrgios said on Saturday.
