Nick Kyrgios makes it clear to troll why he has no issues with Simona Halep

Nick Kyrgios fired back at a troll, highlighting that he has zero issues with Simona Halep and her failed doping test because the Romanian “dealt with the consequences.”

For the past couple of months, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist has been heavily calling out and shading Jannik Sinner over a failed doping test. When it was recently revealed that Iga Swiatek also tested positive for a banned substance and accepted a one-month ban, she also heard it from the Australian because he felt that she received an extremely light sanction.

Over the weekend, the World Tennis League announced that Halep was stepping in as Barbora Krejcikova’s replacement and joining Kyrgios, Jasmine Paolini and Casper Ruud.

After the news dropped, one person dug out one of the Australian’s recent posts, in which he said that he would never play doubles with Sinner because he didn’t consider him “a clean player.”

In late 2022, two-time Grand Slam champion Halep tested positive for a prohibited substance and she didn’t play again until this year’s March.

“Uh she dealt with the consequences lol – unlike Sinner who has been able to play the whole time,” Kyrgios responded.

Kyrgios was supposed to be in Swiatek’s WTL team

After the doping news about the Pole dropped, the Australian reacted by writing on X: “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.” He also declared tennis “cooked.”

Then, the former world No. 13 suggested that just saying “I didn’t know” was enough for some players to get away with a failed doping test.

“The excuse that we can all use is that we didn’t know. Simply didn’t know. Professionals at the highest level of sport can now just say ‘we didn’t know,’” Kyrgios wrote on X at the time.

Before this happened, the 29-year-old and Swiatek were set to represent Team Eagles at the WTL. But after criticizing the Pole, he was moved from Team Eagles to Team Kites.

Kyrgios will now be teammates with Halep, Paolini and Ruud in Abu Dhabi between December 19-22.
