Nick Kyrgios remains adamant that Jannik Sinner not firing his team members instantly after a failed doping test is a red flag and says everyone who thinks otherwise is “a potato.”
When the news dropped, it was explained that physio Giacomo Naldi used a contaminated spray on himself before giving the Italian a bare-handed massage and contaminating the 23-year-old in March.
Also, it was said that the spray – which turned out to be contaminated with clostebol – was purchased by trainer Umberto Ferrara.
Following the explanation provided, Naldi and Ferrara started facing massive backlash and criticism, with some pointing to them as the main culprits for what happened to the two-time Grand Slam champion.
Then just a couple of days later, the Italian tennis star decided to part ways with both members of his staff.
“I (pay) my team hundreds and thousands of dollars to be the professionals they are, to make sure that doesn’t happen,” Kyrgios said in Brisbane.
“So they knew it happened. Why did they wait five to six months to do anything about it? He kept his team for five months … that doesn’t make sense.”
Kyrgios responds to criticism about his Sinner team comment
“He pays his team hundreds and thousands of dollars but it does not work,” one of the responses to the Australian read.
However, he wasn’t fazed, saying: “8 figures from my career. Not bad.”

One person argued that the Italian ditching two team members abruptly in March would have raised some questions.
But Kyrgios didn’t buy that argument at all.
“Well no, numb nuts my physio would have resigned on the spot if he embarrassed me like that. They were hiding it the whole time. Without replacement? lol can’t find anything trainer and doctor in the world? You are all potatoes,” the Australian said.

In Brisbane, Kyrgios also said that Sinner’s case was “horrible” and “disgusting” look for tennis.
