Nick Kyrgios rips troll for saying he only acts tough online but backs down in person

Nick Kyrgios didn’t appreciate at all being told that he acts tough on social media but backs down in person as the Australian acknowledged that he and Casper Ruud had a tense history but underlined that they corrected it even before playing doubles together.

On Saturday, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist and the Norwegian tennis star ousted Jordan Thompson and Sumit Nagal 6-4 at the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi.

However, the main storyline wasn’t the match itself but the fact that they were pairing up after some brutal insults delivered in the past.

Following the match, Kyrgios shared a post on Instagram, where he showed his appreciation and respect for Ruud but also confirmed that their relationship did “a 360.”

Reacting to that, one person posted a screenshot from a few years back, when the 29-year-old insulted the former world No. 2.

“Kyrgios is 100% one of those guys who trash talks someone online and then sees them in person and immediately backs down,” Scott Barclay wrote on X.

Kyrgios responds: You are not capable of anything

“You 100% the person who’s not capable of doing anything elite physically and trash talks elite athletes and probably still lives in his mums basement,” the former world No. 13 wrote in his response.

In a separate post, he added: “Also – Casper and I have had a lot of chats within the last couple years. We were definitely on horrible terms but people grow up and change. As Casper said tonight as rivals we weren’t expecting it lol. What is your profile picture lol – needs to be changed immediately.”

Since starting his career, the seven-time ATP champion has always been very outspoken.

Over the past few months, he has been very critical of Jannik Sinner’s doping case but has remained adamant that it is nothing personal but just how he would feel even if it was someone else in that situation.
