Nick Kyrgios’ shock revelation, tells why he feels ‘weird’ at Wimbledon

Nick Kyrgios may enjoy very much playing on the grass courts at The All England Court but that doesn’t mean that he likes Wimbledon as an event.

Many times in the past, the Australian spoke about his love for grass courts and didn’t hide that he thought there was his biggest chance of making great results. And in 2022, he put up a major run at The Championships to make his first Grand Slam singles final before losing to Novak Djokovic in a tight four-set battle.

After missing the 2023 and 2024 tournament editions due to surgery, Kyrgios is set for a return to The Championships in 2025. And ahead of his comeback, he had a revelation to make – he is not an admirer of Wimbledon’s “weird” setup and prefers much more being at the US Open.

“I’m sorry but like as an event, Wimbledon like as an event is not even that good in my opinion. I don’t really like the setup. I don’t like the cafe and stuff. US Open is my favorite… Wimbledon is insane. I just don’t like… I don’t know like I prefer the US Open. It’s so simple: locker room, go upstairs, food. Wimbledon just not a fan of it… I just feel weird there,” Kyrgios said on the Nothing Major podcast.

Kyrgios will be a man on a mission at The Championships in 2025

After confirming his comeback, the 29-year-old warned his competitions that he would be targeting a Grand Slam triumph.

Since the Australian Open comes early in his return and it is not a secret that he doesn’t like playing at the French Open – hasn’t played there since 2017 – he will likely arrive at The All England Club without a Major win.

Considering his big name and the fact that he proved capable of making a strong run at The Championships, Kyrgios will definitely enter Wimbledon with the biggest aspirations.
