Nick Kyrgios slams ‘out of context’ Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz ‘aura’ quotes

Nick Kyrgios may be one of the harshest critics of Jannik Sinner’s doping case but he wasn’t impressed at all after seeing an X post that was made in a way to make it look like he was speaking negatively about the success and impact of the 23-year-old and Carlos Alcaraz.

This year, the Italian and the 21-year-old Spaniard absolutely dominated the biggest stage, splitting four Grand Slams between them and also combining for four of nine Masters events.

Sinner also won the ATP Finals and has been the top-ranked player in the game since taking the spot in June.

And heading into the new season, the general belief is that they have separated themselves from the rest of the competition – even from Novak Djokovic.

“They’re just kids. Alcaraz and Sinner don’t have the aura…” Kyrgios was quoted as saying.

Kyrgios reacts: No context at all… Do better, potatoes

To no one’s surprise, the post in question didn’t sit well with some fans.

“At least they have Grand Slams, that’s more than you can say,” one person wrote in a response to the post.

Kyrgios noticed it – slammed the media – and said that his comments were taken way out of context.

“No context here at all lol. Media is in a bad spot that’s for sure. Compared to Novak, Federer, Nadal they are yet to have the aura that they have. They will for sure get there but realistically they are kids doing insane things. Do better. Potatoes,” he wrote.

Since the Sinner doping news broke out, the Australian has regularly been calling out the handling of the case and calling for a suspension.

But that isn’t preventing him from giving credit where credit is due and acknowledging that Sinner is doing “insane things” on the court.
