Nick Kyrgios warns Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz ahead of possible matchup

Nick Kyrgios acknowledged that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are “the best in the world” but also highlighted that he always believes in himself and that he would enter those matchups confident he could win.

While the Australian was sidelined due to knee and wrist surgeries, the Italian and the Spaniard elevated their games to a completely new level and combined for all four Grand Slams this year.

After missing the last two season, Kyrgios is finally back to being fully healthy and his comeback starts in a week at the Brisbane International.

For what will likely be the last chapter of his career, the 29-year-old wants to win a Grand Slam in singles. For him to do so, he would likely need to beat a couple of top players during a Slam tournament.

“There’s no doubt that Sinner, Alcaraz — these guys are the best in the world right now, hands down. But that doesn’t mean I won’t believe in myself. I’ll always back myself and do everything I can to compete,” the 2022 Wimbledon finalist told Telecom Asia Sport.

Kyrgios is hoping to face Sinner at the Australian Open

Around 10 days ago, the 29-year-old made all the headlines when he revealed what he was planning to do if he drew the world No. 1 at Melbourne Park.

“Like I would get every single person in the crowd to just like get on him. I would just turn into an absolute riot. Like I would lose all respect, would go out the window and would just do anything to win,” the former world No. 13 said on the Nothing Major podcast.

Over the last couple of months, the Italian has been blasted by the Australian numerous times over his doping case.

While Sinner has refused to respond to Kyrgios so far, there is no doubt that he has it in the back of his mind in case they met on the court.
